Entry 34:‘Mens rea‘ element is sine qua non for offences under IPC.
Explanation in simple language:– The intention of wrongdoing that constitutes part of a crime, is an essential condition for offences under IPC.
1. Mens rea: The intention or knowledge of wrong doing that constitutes part of a crime, as opposed to the action or conduct of the accused.
2. Sine qua non: An essential condition or a thing that is absolutely necessary.
